Media Luna is in the public park administered by the Puerto Rico Dept. of Natural Resources. Media Luna (Half Moon) is a smaller beach with pure white sand protected from the trade winds and waves by a tight entrance to this small bay. It’s a beautiful place and is perfect for families with small children. The water is calm and shallow so it’s great for kids, but also for learning to paddleboard or kayak. For an adult to stand in more than three feet of water, you have to walk out a couple hundred feet – it’s that shallow.

There is shade under the pavilions and there are some trees as well.
