Real Life
We knew this day was coming. Our plan all along was to spend July at my Mom's house in Indialantic, FL, August in Siesta Key, and part of September in Greeley, CO with Deb's parents. Her Mom has a very aggressive form of cancer and unfortunately it is progressing more rapidly than we had hoped. We've done quite a bit of FaceTime with them, which is great of course but doesn't match being there. So we are returning to CO a week earlier than planned to offer moral support and four extra hands around the house. We will also be bringing cuddles from the furry grandchildren Kirby and Maxwell. We're now planning to stay there in September, and then we'll have to see beyond that.
This is already pushing Deb's Dad to his limit, and it's going to do the same for us in many ways. Having lost my Dad last fall, this isn't going to be easy on any of us. We know at our age many people are dealing with parents' health issues and we feel for you all - it's rough. But we always try to maintain a positive attitude and have gratitude for what we have. It helps us through hard times and allows us to enjoy each day in some way, no matter what.
During the past 3 months there have been many subjects that I've been wanting to write about, but keeping up with the travel and local activities (and Deb!) has kept me busy. So I'm hoping to be able to get to some of those subjects in the coming month when there is no travel to report on. Stick with us - we love you guys!
